About Puri
Puri is the spiritual capital of Odisha, known as a pious city filled with noted temples, shrines, Maths, Ashrams, natural wonders, beaches, architectural splendor and many more things those attracts world over tourists. Puri is proudly included in the list of four Dhams of Hinduism, according to which any pilgrimage tour won't be completed without the visit of Puri temple at last. It is believe to be an important spiritual destination for attaining salvation.
Architecture
The temple was built on the basis of Oriya architecture and has around 120 temples and shrines inside. The main temple has curvilinear shape with a chakra of Lord Vishnu on the top. This chakra is also known as Nila Chakra. The tower of the temple has the height of 65m.
Food
Puri being a pilgrim city mostly offers pure vegetarian food in its restaurants. One can have local Oriya cuisine as well as South-Indian delicacies. The city is also known for a lip-smacking Chinese cuisine that one must try. Other than this, being in Puri, on must experience food from the Jagannath Temple which is known for having largest kitchen in the world and the enthralling setup serves simple yet delicious food.
Celebration
There are so many festivals of Sri Jagannath during the year observed in Puri. Which are Snana Yatra, Netrotsava, Ratha Yatra (car festival), Sayan Ekadasi, Chitalagi Amabasya, Srikrushna Janma, Dussehra etc. The most important festival is the World famous Rath Yatra (Car Festival) & Bahuda Yatra.
