Our monsoon adventure began in Mumbai, where we hopped into our car and hit the road towards Karjat. The journey from Andheri (Mumbai) to Karjat takes approximately 2 to 2.5 hours, covering a distance of about 62 kilometers. We chose the picturesque route via NH48 and NH66, offering scenic views of the surrounding landscapes.

Food Stops on the way

Along the way, we made a pit stop at the popular eatery called the Highway Gomantak. Known for its delicious seafood and authentic Malvani cuisine, this restaurant satisfied our cravings with its mouthwatering delicacies. We indulged in spicy prawns, fish thalis, and delectable curries, fueling ourselves for the exciting day ahead.

Afternoon

Upon reaching Karjat, we checked into the unique 007 Universe Resort, a James Bond-themed resort that transports you into the world of glamour and espionage. With tastefully decorated rooms and themed amenities, the resort provided a one-of-a-kind experience for James Bond enthusiasts. From Bond-themed cocktails to spy-inspired activities, we immersed ourselves in the charm of the 007 universe.
Post check-in, we headed to the Kondana Caves, one of the must-visit attractions in Karjat. The caves are located approximately 15 kilometers from the resort and can be reached within a 30-minute drive. The mesmerizing trek through lush green forests and small waterfalls led us to the ancient Buddhist rock-cut caves. We spent a couple of hours exploring the intricate carvings and soaking in the spiritual aura of the surroundings.

Evening

As the evening descended, we visited the magnificent Bhivpuri Waterfall, a true monsoon spectacle. The cascading water amidst the backdrop of verdant hills was a sight to behold. We immersed ourselves in the refreshing waters, letting the cool droplets invigorate our senses. The sound of laughter and joy echoed through the air as visitors reveled in the natural playground created by the waterfall.
After a fulfilling day of exploration, we treated ourselves to a delightful dinner at the renowned Raddi's Restaurant. Known for its lip-smacking Maharashtrian cuisine, the restaurant offers a wide range of vegetarian and non-vegetarian delicacies. We relished the flavors of authentic Karjat specialties, including vada pav, misal pav, and thali meals, which left our taste buds tingling with satisfaction.

Day 2:

Morning

Witness breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains, lush greenery, and glistening streams at the Ulhas Valley. Explore the lifelike wax statues at the museum and capture memorable photos.
Visit the tranquil Kondeshwar Temple nestled amidst dense forests. Enjoy the spiritual ambiance and take a refreshing dip in the nearby waterfall.
Reach the magnificent Peth Fort atop a hill and marvel at the panoramic views of the surrounding landscapes. Witness the enchanting sunset as the golden hues paint the sky.

To satisfy our craving for adventure, we headed to the thrilling Kondeshwar Temple and Waterfall. The temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva, was nestled amidst dense forests and offered a serene ambiance for spiritual seekers. The nearby waterfall provided a refreshing escape, and we couldn't resist taking a dip in the cool waters, feeling the invigorating power of nature.
Kondana Caves (2-3 hours): A trek to the ancient Buddhist rock-cut caves, adorned with lush vegetation and small waterfalls. Take your time to admire the intricate carvings and enjoy the serene ambiance of this historical site.

Evening

As the sun began to set, we made our way to the enchanting Peth Fort. The fort, perched atop a hill, offered panoramic views of the surrounding landscapes. We watched in awe as the golden hues of the sunset painted the sky, casting a magical glow over the entire region. It was a moment of serenity and contemplation, where time seemed to stand still.
